AIM, Artificial Intelligence In Medicine

The contract for the design and development of the CytoBase system was awarded to AIM (Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Inc.), a Toronto based software engineering firm specializing in information systems for the healthcare industry. The conceptual design and specifications for the system were developed by AIM with the participation of experts from the laboratory industry, the Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, the legal industry, and the Ministry of Health. Preliminary design and proof of concept of the system dates back to February of 1994. Full scale development started in June of 1995.
