The Board
of INSCYTE Corporation is comprised of eight directors. Each of the three
founding laboratories appoints two senior executives from their staff
as directors, two are appointed by CancerCare Ontario and the remaining
two are ad hoc appointments by the Board.
One member
of the Board is elected as President and assumes responsibility for the
ongoing operations of CytoBase.
The role
of information systems manager has been contracted to Artificial Intelligence
In Medicine. AIM undertakes responsibility for the operation of the computer
systems, database administration, programmer and analyst functions, quality
assurance and the day to day operations and maintenance of CytoBase.
Member laboratories
provide reports for registration in CytoBase and rely on the database
for current patient histories to assist in the diagnostic process. Each
facility is organized slightly differently, but will have a CytoBase site
liaison manager who is responsible for the actives of the users.
A license
agreement between each member laboratory and INSCYTE Corporation defines
the responsibilities of the entities. All users who have access to CytoBase
data sign confidentiality and non- disclosure agreements on an annual
basis.
The Ontario
Cervical Screening Program, established by CancerCare Ontario, relies
on CytoBase as a data source and for the management of the information
required to implement and operate the program.
